Seanna Johnson earns Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors

After two double-digit scoring performances in Las Vegas last week, Seanna Johnson was recognized by the Big 12 for the second week in a row.

The freshman was named the Big 12 Freshman of the week for the second-consecutive week, the league announced Monday, Dec. 2.

Johnson was named to the All-Tournament team at the South Point Shootout in the ISU women’s basketball team’s 2-0 record in the Las Vegas. tournament. She averaged 18.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in the Cyclones’ two wins.

In Iowa State’s opening victory against Eastern Washington, Johnson tallied a career-high 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds. She was 11-of-12 from the free-throw line and handed out five assists in the ISU win.

Against Auburn, Johnson reached double figures again with 17 points and added five rebounds.

The Cyclones are set to host in-state rival Northern Iowa on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Hilton Coliseum with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
