Freshman quarterback Grant Rohach will start his first game behind center Saturday against Texas Christian, according to the team’s depth chart released Monday, Nov. 4.

ISU coach Paul Rhoads said in his Monday news conference that despite Rohach being listed as the starter for the Cyclones, the official decision will not be made until later in the week.

Rohach has entered each of the last three games at quarterback for Sam Richardson, but the depth chart released Monday named Rohach as the team’s starter after he replaced Richardson midway through the second quarter Saturday in a 41-7 loss against Kansas State.

Rohach went 11-of-24 with 88 passing yards and two interceptions in the loss. In three games in relief of Richardson, Rohach is 31-of-60 for 250 yards, three interceptions and two touchdowns.

Richardson, who has started Iowa State’s last 10 games dating back to last season, has struggled with health this season. He went 6-of-12 with an interception Saturday before Rohach entered.

Iowa State will take on TCU at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Jack Trice Stadium.
