Wrestling signs two top recruits

Two nationally ranked wrestlers signed National Letters of Intent for Iowa State on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Renaldo Rodriguez-Spencer and Marcus Harrington will join the Cyclones in the 2014-15 season.
Rodriguez-Spencer, was ranked No. 37 by the InterMat polls, and is the No. 8 138-pounder in the 2014 class.
The Cheektowga, N.Y., wrestler was the 2013 NHSCA Junior Nationals champion at 138 pounds. He also received the tournament’s Most Outstanding Wrestler Award. Rodriguez-Spencer is also a two-time New York State Tournament place winner, finishing in second place his sophomore year, and winning the state title during his junior season.
Harrington, who attends Waterloo West High School in Waterloo, Iowa, is the defending Class 3-A state champion at 195 pounds. He was a Fargo All-American as well as a FILA Cadet All-American in 2013. He is projected to wrestle at 197 pounds for the Cyclones.
