The Big 12 announced it’s weekly swimming and diving awards on Wednesday, and ISU athletes took home two of the awards. Imelda Wistey was named Big 12 Swimmer of the Week and Elyse Brouillette was named Big 12 Diver of the Week.

Wistey earned the award after three first-place finishes against Texas Christian last week. Wistey won both the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke, and was a part of the winning 200-yard medley relay team. It is the senior’s first time winning the award.

Brouillette earned the award after scoring a personal best 329.48 on the 3-meter diving board against TCU, which was good for the second best score in the event in school history.

The sophomore was Iowa State’s most valuable diver last season and has the highest scores on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards so far this season. It is Brouillette’s second time receiving this award in her career.

Emma Ivory-Ganja of Texas was also named Diver of the Week. Texas received both the men’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week awards.
