The lowdown
The No. 22 ISU women’s basketball team defeated Drake 89-47 on Sunday, Nov. 24. The Cyclones’ win was ISU coach Bill Fennelly’s 400th at Iowa State.
Seanna Johnson had her first career double-double against Drake. She had 14 points and 11 rebounds on the afternoon.
Turning point
During the second half, Drake’s Kyndal Clark scored back-to-back 3-pointers. Iowa State responded by going on a 12-0 run to increase its lead to 28.
The run started with two made free throws from Johnson and ended with three-pointers from both Hallie Christofferson and Jadda Buckley. After the run, Iowa State led 65-37 with 9:20 left.
X factor
The Cyclones made 91 percent of its free throws during the game. Iowa State made 21 of 23 while Drake only went three-of-five on the afternoon.
Christofferson made seven-of-eight and Johnson made six-of-seven during the game.
