Nothing says winter quite like flannel. This oh so attractive type of fashion is hailed as a crowd favorite in the holiday community. But most people have a limited collection of this material, and that can be changed with little to no stress on your bank account.

As a college student you may already know about the goodies you can find at Goodwill, but this is the time to go! People get very generous during the holiday season, and that means the store gets a lot more donations. You can find the perfect oversized shirt for less than ten dollars if you go on the right day, and that my friend is worth it.

Don’t rule out other thrift stores in town either! The Salvation Army, Random Goods, and the Loft are all great resources for a tight budget. It can’t be stressed enough that the turnover rate in stores like these are incredible. So don’t give up on having the perfect flannel, for all you know it could be right around the corner waiting for you in a five dollar bin.
