Name: Tom Hill
Department: Student Affairs, Vice President of Student Affairs
Educational Background: Hill earned his undergraduate degree from Arkansas State, then his Ph. D. from the University of Florida, he also did graduate work at several other universities and pursued higher education for a total of 12 years. He is entering his 17th year as an administrator at Iowa State this August.
Advice for Students: “First of all, take advantage of the opportunity, being a freshman is a once in a lifetime deal,” Hill said. “When I say take advantage I mean focus on your academics, but also focus on activities outside of the classroom. You also need to get connected, make yourself available to your friends, and to your professors. My last piece of advice is to not hesitate to ask for help, and do not wait until you’re drowning. The entire office of student affairs is here to help students, and the door is always open.”
