ISU Dairy Farm Fifth Annual Open House

In the Milkhouse, milk travels throughout a system of pipes ending in a large storage tank known as a vat. When first entering the room, the milk comes directly from the cow at 101 degrees Fahrenheit, as this is the normal body temperature, and goes through two tube filters that clean out any contaminants. Above we see children crowding around to touch the warm pipe containing the 101 degree milk on June 7, 2013.
