Jack Trice Stadium’s field was named the 2012 best College Football Field of the Year by the Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) on Wednesday.

The field’s natural grass turf earned the university its second STMA best collegiate football field award in school history. The first was in 1996.

Tim VanLoon manages the field’s turf, along with the help of student staffers. According to cyclones.com, a photo of the crew and Jack Trice Stadium will appear on the cover of the upcoming issue of SportsTurf Magazine.
