First reported on by chicagohoops.com, former Northern Illinois forward Abdel Nader is transferring to play for the ISU men’s basketball team.

He will have two years of eligibility left after sitting out next season.

At Northern Illinois, the 6-foot-7 forward led the team in scoring and rebounds at 13.1 points per game along with 5.6 rebounds per game.

Adding Nader to next season’s team would put the Cyclones at 14 scholarships, which is one over the limit.

Speculation has swirled that Kerwin Okoro could be transferring. On Thursday, April 25, ISU coach Fred Hoiberg said they “still have some things to work through and can’t comment at this time.”
