After letting a 27-point lead early in the second half be cut to as little as six points, the ISU men’s basketball team snuck out, beating West Virginia 83-74.

Iowa State continued its nation-leading 3-point shooting, making 14 of its 23 attempts from the field. They also held West Virginia to only making one of its 13 attempts in the first half, although the Mountaineers went 9-16 in the second half, storming back.

The Cyclones were led by Will Clyburn on offense, who finished the game with 27 points and 10 rebounds, while Korie Lucious finished with 21 points. A total of four Cyclones were in double digits, including Chris Babb and Georges Niang.

Iowa State will now head to Kansas City for the Big 12 Tournament as the No. 4 or No. 5 seed and will play either Oklahoma or Oklahoma State at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.
