Iowa State was back on the ice on Saturday night and prepared to turn the series around after dropping game one of the series in a dramatic shootout fashion on Friday.

The No. 13 Cyclones were hoping to avenge their loss to No. 16 Central Oklahoma the previous night and get back on track after sweeping West Virginia in their last series.

After a scoreless first period, ISU freshman defenseman Alex Stephens knocked in the first goal of the game 1:55 into the second period, putting the Cyclones up 1-0.

The Bronchos returned the favor with a goal of their own with less than two minutes left in the second period, evening the score at 1-1.

Junior forward Mark Huber tallied the first goal of the third period for the Cyclones at 7:44, putting Iowa State up 2-1. The Bronchos were quick to respond, scoring just two minutes later to tie the game at 2-2.

The Cyclones, however, would not be denied and added another goal by junior forward Chris Cucullu at 12:39 in the third.

Iowa State never relinquished the lead and took the second game of the series 3-2.

The Cyclones return to the Ames/ISU Ice Arena on Dec. 7 and 8 at 7:30 p.m. to face Dakota College-Bottineau.
