Defensive end Nick Kron and running back Shontrelle Johnson will not play in the Liberty Bowl after recently sustaining injuries in practice, ISU coach Paul Rhoads confirmed on Sunday.

Johnson, who missed the remaining nine games of last season due to a neck injury, is the team’s leading rusher with 504 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Johnson also averaged 4.4 yards per carry and 42 rushing yards per game.

Kron has made his presence known with five tackles, two tackles for loss and one sack this season.
