Cyclones sweep Sooners, win sixth straight match

For the fourth consecutive match, the ISU volleyball team swept away its competition as Iowa State swept Oklahoma in straight sets on Saturday.

The No. 20 Cyclones (16-7, 9-3 Big 12) beat the Sooners (19-9, 8-5) behind a quick start on Saturday afternoon (25-12, 25-20, 25-21). Iowa State has now won its last six matches, including five Big 12 matches. 

Iowa State started fast in the first set of the match, leading 15-2 early in the set. Libero Kristen Hahn had nine digs in the first set alone. 

In all, Hahn ended the match with 23 digs for a 7.67 digs per set average. Outside hitter Rachel Hockaday added 12 digs for the Cyclones in the victory. 

Freshman outside hitter Andie Malloy played in all three sets for the Cyclones and went 12-of-31 in kills for a .226 hitting percentage. Middle blocker Tenisha Matlock added nine kills for the team. 

The Cyclones have four conference matches remaining before the NCAA Tournament. Two of those matches will be against ranked opponents including matches against No. 17 Kansas State and No. 3 Texas.

Kansas State is up next on Wednesday at Hilton Coliseum. First serve is set for 5 p.m. against the Wildcats.
