Cincinnati outlasts Iowa State in Las Vegas

Iowa State lost its first test of the season in Las Vegas against No. 22 Cincinnati 78-70. 

The Cyclones were led again by Tyrus McGee, hitting on seven of his 14 shots for 22 points and filling up the box score with four rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals. 

Korie Lucious struggled on the night, hitting on four of 12 shots for 12 points. Lucious was bothered by the Cincinnati’s Cashmere Wright the entire game and was forced into turning the ball over six times.

The other senior transfer, Will Clyburn also struggled from the field hitting on two of his 14 shots, but did add seven rebounds. 

Iowa State will now play UNLV or Oregon tomorrow.
