President Barack Obama wins re-election

The Associated Press is projecting that Obama will be re-elected for another term as President of the United States.

CNN has now made the projection that Obama will be re-elected for another term in the White House.
Update: 10:17 p.m.
Obama has now been projected to win Iowa. Electoral votes on USA Today and Des Moines Register are 229 for Obama and 190 for Romney. On PBS Newshour, they are 234 for Obama and 200 for Romney. On CNN, the tally is 256 to 201 with Obama leading.
Update: 9:22 p.m.
Romney has lost his lead in Florida as Obama currently has 50 percent of the vote, with Romney behind by one percent.
The electoral vote gap is rapidly closing as Obama now has 147 electoral votes and Romney has 158, according to CNN.
The Des Moines Register, USA Today and PBS Newshour all have Obama with 148 electoral votes and Romney with 159.
Update: 9 p.m.
The race continues to stay tight as CNN announces Obama with 143 electoral votes and Romney with 152.
The Des Moines Register, USA Today and PBS Newshour are all calling Obama with 123 electoral votes and Romney with 153 electoral votes.
Iowa’s voting booths are scheduled to close now.

More results are coming in rapidly. CNN is keeping steady with Obama still at 123 electoral votes and Romney with 152 electoral votes.
USA Today, PBS Newshour and the Des Moines Register now have Obama at 123 electoral votes and Romney with 153 electoral votes, more in tune with CNN than in the previous hour.
Update: 8:18 p.m.
USA Today, PBS Newshour and the Des Moines Register are now showing Obama as having 109 electoral votes and Romney with 141 electoral votes.
CNN continues to list Obama as having 123 electoral votes and Romney leading with 152 electoral votes.
Florida continues to remain an undecided battleground state. Romney has a slim lead with 3,450,817 votes with Obama close behind with 3,435,450 votes.

CNN is now listing Romney in the lead with 152 electoral votes and Obama with 123 electoral votes.
Des Moines Register, USA Today and PBS Newshour continue to stay on the same page with Romney leading with 76 electoral votes and Obama with 64 electoral votes.

CNN is now reporting 82 electoral votes for Romney and 64 electoral votes for Obama.
The Des Moines Register and PBS Newshour have both announced Romney with 67 electoral votes and Obama with 64 electoral votes.
USA Today lists Obama with 64 electoral votes and Romney with 51 electoral votes.

The Des Moines Register, USA Today and PBS Newshour are now announcing Romney with 40 electoral votes and Obama with 64 electoral votes. CNN has announced Obama as having 64 electoral votes and Romney with 56 electoral votes.

The Des Moines Register, PBS Newshour and USA Today have all announced Obama as having three electoral votes and Romney as having 33 electoral votes.
As election results get underway, state results are coming in. So far, PBS Newshour, USA Today and the Des Moines Register have announced Barack Obama with three electoral votes and Mitt Romney with 13 electoral votes.
However, CNN has announced Obama as having three electoral votes and Romney with 33 electoral votes.
