ISU senior linebacker and captain Jake Knott will undergo surgery today in Chicago and miss the rest of the season, ISU coach Paul Rhoads announced at his weekly news conference.

Rhoads said it was a “possibility” that Knott could return if the Cyclones make it to a bowl game.

It was reported on Friday that Knott would miss Saturday’s game, after multiple sources told the Daily.

Knott played the game, finishing with 11 tackles while playing with a shoulder harness on his injured left shoulder.

This was Knott’s 19th career game where he had 10 or more tackles.

Knott forced his 10th fumble of his career which halted a Baylor drive, preventing them from scoring first.

Knott also garnered Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week for his performance on Saturday’s 35-21 against Baylor.
