ISU forward Chelsea Poppens was named to the preseason All-Big 12 team by league coaches on Wednesday.

Poppens, a senior from Aplington, Iowa, was a unanimous selection for the All-Big 12 first team as a junior and was the only player in the Big 12 to average a double-double with 14.2 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.

Poppens recorded 14 double-doubles last season, with eight being against conference opponents. Poppens was also ranked 13th nationally in rebounding in 2011-2012.

Joining Poppens on the preseason All-Big 12 team are Brittney Griner and Odyssey Sims of Baylor, Angel Goodrich of Kansas, and Aaryn Ellenberg of Oklahoma.
