ISU offers resources for LGBTQQIAA community
August 23, 2012
College is a time for finding yourself. Breaking free of hometown stereotypes to discover who you are and where you feel comfortable in the real world.
But what about those who never even felt comfortable in their own skin?
Many students may not have access to information or even the vocabulary that could help define their identity. Until they come to college that is. The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Student Services center (LGBTSS) offers those resources to students. In addition to providing information, the area serves as a meeting place for student groups that cater to the entire lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, allied, asexual community. (LGBTQQIAA)
The goal of the center is to foster an environment of community, pride and resources for students.
LGBTSS is located at 1064 Student Services Building on campus. All students are welcome to walk in or schedule appointments, with hours and contact information found on Iowa State University’s website.
