M-Shop fall lineup announced

The Memorial Union and the Student Union Board have announced the fall concert schedule for the Maintenance Shop.
According to a news release, tickets for the shows will be available at the M-Shop box office, located at the west entrance of the Memorial Union, online at Midwestix or via phone at 515-294-8349. Additional charges will be applied for orders made online and via phone.
Starting Aug. 20, the M-Shop box office will be open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and before and during most shows, according to the news release.

Champagne Champagne with The Knux:
Champagne Champagne is a punk-rap group from Seattle that played on the 2012 Vans Warped Tour. The Knux is an alternative hip-hop group composed of two brothers from New Orleans.

Wallpaper with Fast Break:
Wallpaper is fronted by rapper Ricky Reed. Wallpaper’s breakout single is called “#STUPIDFACEDD.” The song was played on episodes of “Jersey Shore.”

Delfeayo Marsalis:
Delfeayo Marsalis is an internationally acclaimed jazz musician, composer and producer. Marsalis plays the trombone and has recorded several albums, in addition to educating young musicians.

Policia:
Policia, an indie rock band from Minneapolis, released its debut album “Give You the Ghost” this past February and received good reviews from several critics. Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon said in a Rolling Stone interview Polica was the best band he had ever heard.

Tony Lucca with Gabe Dixon:
Tony Lucca, a former member of the “Mickey Mouse Club,” is a indie rock singer and songwriter who has had songs appear on “Friday Night Lights,” “Brothers and Sisters,” “Shark” and “Felicity.” Gabe Dixon, the lead singer of the Gabe Dixon Band, recently released his debut solo album. Dixon’s song “Find My Way” was featured as the main theme for the film “The Proposal.”

Jon McLaughlin:
Jon McLaughlin, a pop-rock singer and songwriter, garnered attention after having his songs played on several television shows and in many movies. For instance, he performed his song “So Close” in the film “Enchanted.” The song earned McLaughlin a Oscar nomination.

Freelance Whales with Geographer:
Indie rock band Freelance Whales had one of its songs featured in the background of a video Twitter created to show the site’s new features. Geographer, another indie rock band, was voted on by Spin magazine as one of the “Three Undiscovered Bands You Need to Hear Now.”
Nov. 17
The Greencards:
The Greencards is a bluegrass band that originally formed in Austin, Texas. The Grammy Award-nominated band went on a 31-date tour with Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson in 2005.
