Fire breaks out on ISU campus, causes two buildings to lose power

A fire broke out at the Metals Development Building Friday morning, June 29, causing the Metals Development Building and Spedding Hall to lose power.
According to an Inside Iowa State announcement, the fire occurred in a second floor electrical equipment room in the Metals Development Building. The announcement stated that the fire did not involve chemicals or dangerous substances.
The portion of Pammel Drive between Morrill Road North and WOI Road will be closed through mid-morning due to fire fighters doing safety checks, according to the announcement.
