With the redevelopment of North Grand Mall underway, a new store, TJ Maxx, is coming to Ames.

“I can confirm that we are scheduled to open the store in the spring of 2013,” said Britany Welch, the public relations supervisor for TJX Companies, the parent company of TJ Maxx.

GK Development, the owners of North Grand Mall in Ames, declined to comment on the issue, simply stating via email: “Retailers typically prefer to announce the entry of their new stores to the market based on their timelines and strategic plans.”

Welch was not available for any further information.
