A street construction project along Ash Avenue will cause street closures beginning Monday, May 7. The first phase will close Ash Avenue from Knapp Street to about 500 feet south of the the intersection of County Club Boulevard, according to a news release from the city of Ames.

The project includes installing a new storm sewer, rehabilitation work on the existing sanitary sewer, and the removal and replacement of the existing street.

Additional phases of the project will involve closing Ash Avenue south to Mortensen Parkway for short durations to repair sanitary sewer utilities and to replace the driving surface.

The total project is expected to take several months.
