Bootytronic presents Club Veishea
Where: Outside Student Services
When: Friday and Saturday, 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Club Veishea is a brand new event for 2012 giving students a chance to enjoy a club atmosphere that is open to all ages. Hosted by the BOOTYTRONIC Suite.
Armed with a face-melting sound system and a retina-burning light display, their twelve electronic music professionals will gather for two nights of dancing pleasure in what will surely be the most electrified block party ever. They will be taking over Union Drive so prepare your eyes, ears, and dancing shoes for Bootytronic.
Hypnotist Brian Imbus
Where: Great Hall, MU
When: Thursday, 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Cost: Free
Brian Imbus is quickly becoming one of the most sought after hypnotists in the country. Brian’s performance is a fast paced spectacle of laughter and excitement that is appropriate for all types of audiences. He performs at college campuses all across the country and has a reputation of being one of the easiest entertainers to work with. During the performance, Brian will select audience volunteers to become hypnotized on stage. The hypnotized volunteers are taken through an amazing journey of imagination while they become the true stars of the show. This interactive show is extremely popular amongst colleges all across the nation.
Chainsaw artist Jeff Klatt
Where: Central Campus
When: Saturday
Cost: Free
Jeff Klatt is a well known chainsaw artist who has performed at Veishea events for the past few years. A Veishea favorite, he has astonished audiences for decades with his fast, intricate sculpting with his chainsaw.
Magician John Rotellini
Where: Central Campus
When: Saturday at 11 p.m., Sunday at 2 a.m.
Cost: Free
Since 2005, John Rotellini has captivated audiences around the world by doing the impossible. Whether it be performing live in front of thousands, hosting his own radio shows, executing death-defying large scale stunts, or his more recent endeavors into the world of automotive racing, John’s passion knows no bounds.
Comedian Kristen Schaal
Where: Stephens Auditorium
When: Saturday at 9 p.m.
Cost: Free
Kristen Schaal is a giant of the alternative comedy scene and gets hungry every time she smells the blood of John Oliver. She was named Best Alternative Comic at the 2006 HBO Comedy Arts Festival and won a New York Nightlife Award for Best Female Stand-Up. Schaal was also the recipient of the second annual Andy Kaufman Award hosted by the New York Comedy Festival. In October 2005, she was included in New York Magazine’s “Ten Funniest New Yorkers You’ve Never Heard Of.” Along with her comedy partner Kurt Braunohler, she was recently nominated for the Edinburgh Festival’s IF Comedy Award, the most prestigious award in the world named after a Web site.
MuSe- Music Showcase Extraordinaire
Where: The Maintenance Shop, MU
When: Thursday, 6 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.
Cost: Free
Come check out the great local music from Iowa and surrounding areas. Formerly battle of the Bands, the Music Showcase Extraordinaire (MuSE, for short) will accomplish this by featuring up to six great bands to be chosen by the Veishea Concerts committee to perform at the Maintenance Shop Thursday.
Juggler Nick Pike
Where: Central Campus
When: Saturday at 9 p.m. and Sunday at 1 a.m.
Cost: Free
For over 10 years, Nick has been entertaining crowds from London, England to Sydney, Australia and now landing in the US. Nick performs extreme juggling stunts that will leave audience members in awe. And this is not Nick Pike’s first appearance at Veishea. He has performed for a number of years to an always eager crowd.
Project Dynamite- comedy
Where: Central Campus
When: Friday at 10 p.m. and Saturday at 1 a.m.
Cost: Free
Comedy’s been done, but never like this. They’re new, fresh, and unstoppable. Project Dynamite’s unique performances have quickly established them as, “the show unlike any other”.
With two People’s Choice Awards & Best Novelty Act Award, you won’t have to worry about if new is always better. It is. These two comedy nuts will have your audience rolling with laughter & awe as they match their award-winning skills against clever comedy that’s never been seen before. It’s interactive, intoxicating, and pants-down hilarious.
Regurgitator Stevie Starr
Where: Central Campus
When: Friday at 11:30 p.m. and Saturday at 12:45 a.m.
Cost: Free
During his childhood, Stevie Starr lived in a children’s home and found out he had a talent when he was able to hide his money by swallowing it, then regurgitating it dry. His many acts include swallowing coins and regurgitating them in order, swallowing a billiard ball whole, swallowing live goldfish and producing them again- still alive. He has performed on Britain’s Got Talent and became a semi-finalist. He has also performed at Veishea in previous years, and always to a positive and eager crowd.
61Syx Teknique- Breakdancers
Where: Central Campus
When: Saturday at 10 p.m. and Sunday at 12 a.m.
Cost: Free
61Syx Teknique is a devoted and talented group of individuals who find numerous common passions in dance and uplifting the community by shedding positive light on the hip hop culture. Friends before crew-mates Teknique is a family. With an impressive resume already under their belt including shows for The Clipse, Talib Kweli, Fantasia, George Clinton, Del The Funky Homosapien, B2K, Lloyd Banks, Fat Joe, and other huge artists. But never finding any show too small, 61Syx has also been a part of numerous charity events, church fundraisers, and art showcases. 61Syx is a part of the Coleman entertainment group which calls for them to perform at colleges across the nation. With the goal of keeping hip hop spirit alive, 61Syx offers a 45 minute performance and hour long workshop to take you through a timeline of the evolution of the street dance known as “BBoying”. From the beginning times in the 1970s through the boom in the 80s, all the way up to the newest styles of footwork, powermoves, freezes, and battle tactics.
