June 7, 2019
Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds was briefly in the hospital Thursday, after experiencing chest pain.
“Out of an abundance of caution,” the governor, now in her first full term, went to the emergency room to seek medical care and was treated by a physician there, according to the governor’s office.
Renyolds underwent chest x-rays, blood tests and an electrocardiogram (EKG) test, all of which returned normal results, according to a press release from Reynolds’ office.
The governor was released from the hospital Thursday and returned to work in the Capitol, working Friday as well. Reynolds spoke at the 98th Iowa Veterans of Foreign Wars Convention in Des Moines on Friday, according to her twitter.
