ISU tennis team drops another close match

The ISU tennis team dropped a close meet, losing 4-3 to Houston on Monday.

The Cyclones (3-9) started off the meet by getting a win in doubles from the team of Tessa Lang and Marie-Christine Chartier. But the other two doubles teams lost and Iowa State lost the doubles point.

Lang and Chartier have gone 6-3 in doubles this season and are the Cyclones most consistent pair.

In singles Iowa State lost the in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, but got wins from Simona Cacciuttolo in the No. 3 spot and Meghan Cassens in the No. 4 spot. Chartier also added a win at the No. 6 spot.

Chartier leads the team in singles wins with an 8-3 record and Pronina and Cassens both sport a 7-5 record.

The Cyclones will stay in Houston to take on No. 35 Stephen F. Austin tomorrow at 11 a.m.
