Joseph Thompson, 28, of West Des Moines, was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated at Chamberlain Street and Stanton Avenue; he was transported to the Story County Justice Center. A passenger in the vehicle, who was suffering from an alcohol overdose, was transported by ambulance to Mary Greeley Medical Center for treatment (reported at 3:21 a.m.).
