Deadline for $3,000 award is Friday
December 7, 2011
Deadline for the $3,000 Sesquicentennial Learning to Live a Life Leadership Award applications is noon Friday.
The award, which is given to a junior or senior, was established in 2008 by Iowa State’s Sesquicentennial committee.
A winner will be announced in February. The money will be divided between two semesters during the 2012-2013 academic year based on the student who has shown how he or she has demonstrated the qualities of creating a real life project that has made a difference.
A quote by M.J. Riggs on the north wall inside the Memorial Union reads, “We come to college not alone to prepare to make a living, but to learn to live a life.” This quote is what the committee has based the award on.
