Kristine Gleason, daughter of Michael and Renee Gleason, and Allen Vanderwiel, son of Mark and Cecile Vanderwiel, are pleased to announce their engagement.

Gleason, of Solon, will graduate this December with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering with an emphasis in food and biosystems.

Vanderwiel, of Rochester, Minn., will graduate in May 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering, emphasizing in the power and machinery option.

The couple met at Iowa State in 2007 and plans to exchange vows on May 19, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Solon.
