Michele Bachmann will host a town hall meeting in the Sun Room of the Memorial Union at noon on Thursday.

The event is sponsored by the Committee on Lectures.

Bachmann is the first Republican woman to be elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Minnesota, according to the lectures program.

“She is an advocate for tax reform, an opponent of wasteful government spending and a strong proponent of adherence to the Constution,” according to the program. “Prior to serving in the U.S. Congress, she was elected to the Minnesota State Senate in 2000.”

The town hall meeting is part of the Iowa State University Presidential Caucus Series.
