In one of the quarterfinal games in the 2019 Women’s World Cup, the United States will take France at 2 p.m. Central Standard Time Friday in Paris. 

Friday’s game between the United States and France will be aired on FOX.

The winner will take on Norway or England in the semifinal.

Both teams have a record of 4-0 in the cup and both women won their groups at the group stage.

The United States is coming off of a 2-1 victory in the round of 16 over Spain on Monday, and France beat Brazil 2-1 in the round of 16 on Monday. 

France beat the United States in an international friendly 3-1 back in January in Le Havre, France.

In their last five meetings, France has a 3-1-1 record against the United States and has outscored the United States 9-3 in those games.

The United States’ last win against France was in 2016.

Friday’s game has the potential to be a low-scoring battle, as both teams have only allowed three goals combined thus far, with France allowing two goals and the United States allowing one. 

Despite France’s high-quality defense and record against the United States in the past three years, the United States has potential to give the French defense a daunting challenge unlike they have faced in their first four games.

The United States has three of the top 11 goal scorers in the World Cup in forward Alex Morgan, who is tied for first in the tournament with five goals, and forwards Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe, who each have three goals, who are tied for fifth.

The United States also has six players who have scored at least twice in the tournament.

France’s leading scorer, defender Wendie Renard, is tied for fifth with three goals scored in the 2019 Women’s World Cup.
