Severe thunderstorm watch in effect through Saturday morning

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the area until 4 a.m. Saturday.
Storms could produce hail 1 inch in diameter and wind gusts up to 70 mph. Dangerous lightning is also possible.
