The Cyclones will head off to Louisville, Kentucky to compete in the Louisville regional of the 2019 NCAA DI Men’s golf regional compeition.

Iowa State, along with 12 other schools, will compete Monday through Wednesday for one of five spots to make it back to the NCAA Championship.

The top five teams from each of the six regional sites will advance to the NCAA Championship. 

The Cyclones will have stiff competition to go up against, including No. 1 Oklahoma State, No.11 Auburn, No. 13 North Florida, No. 21 Louisville and No. 25 Baylor.

Last season, the Cyclones saw great success at their regional competition.

The Cyclones finished third in their respective regional competition, tying for the best showing in an NCAA postseason event in school history.

Iowa State is lead by a pair of golfers who are on pace to set records in the same year for the program.

Tripp Kinney and Lachlan Barker both walk into NCAA regional play with the two best stroke averages for a single season in program history. 

Kinney leads the team by a slim margin with his 70.73 average, with Barker close behind him with his 70.90 average.

Kinney and Barker have combined for nine top-10 finishes this season.

Last season, Barker finished T19 at the pacific regional, while Kinney ended T56 individually.

The Louisville regional will play host to many highly ranked golfers and programs, making the idea of placing in the top-10 for Barker and Kinney even more challenging than in years past.

Including current junior Sam Vincent, tying for fifth individually at the 2017-18 regional, only seven Cyclones have placed in the top-10 at an NCAA Regional in program history.

Barker, Kinney and Vincent will lead the way for the Cyclones beginning Monday in Louisville.
