Nine24 secret builds excitement, frustration

Nine24 has been building both excitement and frustration through its mysterious tweets and advertisements, insisting that “a change is coming.” This weekend, on Saturday, the mystery will be revealed.

“I’m extremely excited to see the reaction to what we’re going to be doing,” said Mark Zikra, leasing and marketing director of Campustown Property Management, the mastermind behind the event.

Several have solved a fill-in-the-blank puzzle that spells “Campustown block party,” but Zikra said the party — which will feature food, music, and more — is just the unveiling for something bigger.

“I designed this whole plan because we’re going to be unveiling something we’re building in Campustown,” Zikra said.

He said the project will benefit everyone in the community, not just residents of Campustown Property Management.

“I wanted to kind of start this feeling of community again,” he said. “There’s always more to do in the area than just going out on Thursday and Friday night.”

Though the project has created a lot of buzz in the online community, it has also created frustration.

“With this much build-up it’s bound to suck,” wrote one poster on Nine24’s Facebook page

Zikra said that although the campaign has been intentionally secretive, some people have figured it out.

The rest will have to wait for Sept. 24. The party begins at 5 p.m. Zikra declined to name an exact location — but said the unveiling would be hard to miss.
