The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a dense fog advisory for the area until 9 a.m.

Visibility is expected to stay below one quarter of a mile through sunrise, with some improvement occurring after sunrise. Daytime warming will help dissipate some of the fog.

The fog will produce hazardous travel conditions. Rapid changes in visibility over short distances can be expected, according to the advisory.
