The country duo Sugarland is planning a private memorial in Indiana to honor the five fans who were killed Saturday night when a stage collapsed during a storm, the musicians said Tuesday.

The private memorial would be held after families hold their own services and memorials for the victims, the duo said in a statement.

“Until that time we are holding vigil for them,” Sugarland’s statement said. “We join them on their mourning benches. And we stand in the gap asking God to offer them peace and healing. For those suffering from injury we hold you up with prayers for complete healing of your own.”

At least 40 people were also injured in the incident, when metal scaffolding fell onto the “Sugarpit,” a section usually occupied by Sugarland’s most faithful fans. The scaffolding collapsed about four minutes after authorities took the stage to warn the crowd to seek shelter, according to a timeline of events released by investigators. The concert was held at the Indiana State Fair.

Saying “there is healing in our working together,” Sugarland plans to get back on the road and hold a show in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Thursday.

“The emotions have us yearning to be close to each other immediately. The logistics have us needing to replace all of our instruments and equipment. (The set is a loss that is insignificant in light of the tragedy). This ‘Incredible Machine’ is more than a tour and more than a set,” the duo’s statement said, referring to the name of the tour and their recent album.

“We have always celebrated music as a healer. While music cannot change the events and losses at the Indiana State Fair, it can hopefully serve as a ritual and a balm to provide comfort and facilitate healing in this time of great sorrow. We hope to see you all soon,” the statement said.

The Train and Maroon 5 concert, originally scheduled for the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand, has been relocated to Conseco Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis and will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, the Indiana State Fair Commission announced Tuesday. All previously purchased Train and Maroon 5 tickets for the show at the Indiana State Fair will be honored at Conseco Fieldhouse on the night of the show.

Train and Maroon 5 are donating their entire performance fee, and the Indiana State Fair and Pacers Sports and Entertainment, who manage Conseco Fieldhouse, are donating the proceeds from the concert to the Indiana State Fair Remembrance Fund. Alslo, Conseco Fieldhouse staff and security, stage hands and Levy Restaurants are volunteering their services so the remembrance concert can take place, the state fair commission said.
