Heat advisory returns for start of the week

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a heat advisory for Ames starting at noon Sunday and continuing until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
South winds will bring heat and moisture to the area starting Sunday, according to the advisory.
High temperatures will be in the low to mid 90s on Sunday, mid 90s on Monday and mid to upper 90s on Tuesday. Overnight lows will only drop into the mid to upper 70s, providing little relief.
Heat index values will reach near 105 on Sunday, 105-110 on Monday and around 110 on Tuesday. The heat indices will remain in the upper 70s in the overnight hours.
