The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a flash flood watch for much of central Iowa, including Story, Boone and Polk Counties.

Thunderstorms are expected to develop again this evening and could produce 1-3 inches of additional rain, according to the watch. The watch is in effect until Friday morning.
