Severe thunderstorm warning in effect

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a severe thunderstorm warning until noon for southwestern Story County.
According to the warning, “Doppler Radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 MPH.”
The storms were in a line extending from 6 miles south of Boone to Madrid and to Grimes. The weather service reports there were moving east at 45 MPH.
Areas between mile markers 90 and 116 on Interstate Highway 35 are included.
