Free pizza, music and information will all be located at the corner of Welch Avenue and Chamberlain Avenue on Friday.

The One Community Event will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the fire station.

The event was created by the Government of the Student Body and the city of Ames as a way to celebrate the end of the school year.

“The purpose of the event is to create a fun and free event for students and the community to come together and celebrate the previous year,” said Nate Dobbels, GSB speaker of the senate and senior in agricultural and life sciences education. “We will also be focusing on helping people find summer opportunities.

The band, Sun Company, will be entertaining students as they munch on free pizza and collect information and free stuff from various Ames organizations.

Several ISU organizations will also be performing. Those organizations include:

• Dance Marathon

• ISU Bhangra

• All in Moderation

• Swing Society

A similar event was scheduled for last year, but was canceled due to rain. Dobbels said he is hoping for better weather this year so the event does not have to be canceled again.

“I hope all students want to come out to this fantastic event,” Dobbels said.
