ISU tennis team falls 5-2 against Illinois-Chicago

The ISU tennis team fell to Illinois-Chicago 5-2 on Saturday, dropping to 0-4 on the season.

Freshman Ksenia Pronina had a strong meet for the Cyclones, rallying from being down one set to winning the next two 6-1, 6-3.

Senior Marie-Christine Chartier posted the other singles victory for the Cyclones winning the first set 7-5 and dominating the second set 6-0.

Iowa State did not win any of the three doubles matches although Maria Macedo and Jenna Langhorst came close, dropping their doubles set 8-7 (5).

The Cyclones will hope to fare better against the Hawkeyes tomorrow, who defeated Illinois-Chicago on Friday 6-1 and are 2-0 on the season. The meet is scheduled to start at noon.
