Thank you for publishing the article “House bill would legalize discrimination of gays.” I am deeply saddened to learn that the Iowa House of Representatives is entertaining the thought of legally condoning discrimination on the basis of marriage to another of the same gender. I hope that the Iowa House can collectively agree that the denial of employment, shelter, and legal recourse on such a premise is petty, cruel and retroactive.

It is to my personal shame that one of the sponsors of House Study Bill 50 is Rep. Richard Anderson of Clarinda. I encourage everybody to write to the Iowa House of Representatives in opposition to this proposed legislation.
