Jessica Loecke reported that someone had slammed their vehicle into a residence in north Ames at 5:40 a.m. Friday at 2536 Somerset Drive, Ames Police Cmdr. Mike Brennan said in a news release.

The news release indicates that the driver, Matthew Allen Cleverly, and a passenger, Nathan Allen Suckow, left the scene in the vehicle. Officers located the vehicle near Somerset Drive and Chester Drive. 

Cleverly was charged with operating while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a property damage accident and Suckow was charged with public intoxication.

There is not yet an estimate of damages to the residence.
