Pair Up 4 a Purpose registration available

The Pair Up 4 a Purpose 4K Run/Walk will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 7 on Iowa State’s Central Campus.
Pair Up 4 a Purpose is organized by the Youth & Shelter Services’ Great Relationships in Pairs mentoring program, which pairs elementary- and middle school-aged children with adult mentors who meet once a week to develop long-term friendships.
Registration will be $25 for singles and $40 for pairs. Go to www.yss.org and click on events to register in advance. Day-of registration begins at noon.
Panera Bread will provide refreshments and a raffle for door prizes will be available. Cy the Mascot will be in attendance to help participants warm up before the race.
Participants who register as a pair can run the race together or as a relay exchange and are encouraged to dress up as famous pairs. The best dressed pair will win a prize.
An awards ceremony will follow the race at about 2 p.m.

In addition to the GRIP program, Youth & Shelter Services also provides prevention, education, treatment and residential services to those in need.
