Freshman keeper wins Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors
September 7, 2010
Freshman Maddie Jobe was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday for her games Friday against Creighton and Sunday against North Dakota State.
Jobe shut out both teams and played all 200 minutes, while recording seven saves each game. Jobe stepped up for the Cyclones in the absence of the injured Ashley Costanzo to help Iowa State to a 1-0 win over Creighton and 0-0 double-overtime tie against North Dakota State.
Jobe, an Eden Prairie, Minn., native and Benilde St. Margarets alumna is the first Cyclone to receive the honor since goalkeeper Ann Gleason took home the honor Oct. 7, 2007.
