Cameron Leehey is completely misguided in his article on kung fu movies — by the way, the title of this article doesn’t fit at all.

First of all, there is a movie that he is describing — it’s called “The Karate Kid.” In the movie, Jackie Chan explicitly states they are training kung fu, and that kung fu is not like those movies Leehey described.

He should check it out.

Secondly, “Avatar: the Last Airbender” is based on an anime, Japanese cartoon, on Nickelodeon.

At no time in the series or movie do they state they are training in kung fu, it’s some make-believe fighting/living style most likely. I didn’t care for the movie either, but you shouldn’t make things up because you haven’t seen the movie.
