In an e-mail sent to students Thursday, the Department of Residence announced that recent flooding in Ames will not affect move-in.

Frederiksen Court, Schilletter and University Village Apartments will begin move-in as planned at 9 a.m. Saturday. Students who have been preapproved for early move-in still will be allowed to move in Saturday.

Other residence halls will open Tuesday at 8 a.m. as planned.

Disruptions to the water service in Ames does affect all Department of Residence facilities.

According to the e-mail sent to students, all hall desks will have a supply of bottled water available.

The department is suggesting that students bring a case or two of water with them.

Residents in Frederiksen Court our SUV are able to boil water for consumption.
