Construction in Ames has caused CyRide buses to temporarily reroute the Green and Brown Routes.

No. 2 Green Route Detour: Highschool Area — Due to street construction at 20th Street and Ridgewood Avenue near the Ames High School, CyRide is detouring its No. 2 Green Route between 16th and 20th Streets to travel via Northwestern Avenue.

A map details the rerouting. Closed bus stops include those on 16th Street west of Northwestern Avenue, all on Ridegewood Avenue and those on 20th Street west of Northwestern Avenue.

Temporary stops have been created for Green West Route, as the bus travels westbound on Northwestern Avenue and 20th Street with a stop on Northwestern Avenue on the southwest corner, and at 16th Street  and Northwestern Avenue with a stop on 16th Street on the southeast corner. Specifically, the route operates as follows:

No. 6 Brown Route Welch Ave. Closed Stop – The bus stop at Welch Avenue and Chamberlain Street, southbound only, on No. 5 Brown South Route is closed due to sanitary sewer work. Passengers typically boarding at this bus stop can catch CyRide at Welch Avenue and Knapp Street.
