Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe released a statement Tuesday afternoon following a meeting between Beebe and the conference’s 10 athletic directors Monday and Tuesday in Irving, Texas.

“There is a great deal of excitement about the future of the Conference,” Beebe said in the statement. “Our member institutions look forward to the continuation of excellent competition and providing outstanding experiences for our student athletes.”

The athletic directors held a meeting to discuss the future of the conference, including scheduling and the future of the conference’s branding and television appearances, according to big12sports.com

“The 10-school model is one that is extremely attractive and provides the opportunity for continued long-term success,” Beebe said. “As I have stated previously, there is no interest in expansion and it was not a consideration at the gathering.”
