Summer in Ames just isn’t summer without road construction.

Ames has scheduled street reconstruction beginning Wednesday on 20th Street from Grand Avenue to Kellogg Avenue.

Construction is expected to take one month, and the road will be closed during that time. Once the project begins, the road surface, driveway approaches and all curbs and gutters will be removed.

Work will also include sanitary and storm sewer repairs and structure replacement at several locations.

The completion date for all the new paving, sidewalks and driveways is August 6.
